David Stockinger
Managing Director
I joined the industry in 1983, starting my career in plumbing & heating on a Youth Opportunity Scheme. I joined the team at GMS in 2000 as a fully qualified Engineer with a number of years experience. Becoming a Director in 2017 (when the founders of the Business retired) was a fantastic opportunity to build on the Company’s success. GMS started out as a family run business and continues to be run as a family business, which has grown to suit the needs of our clients. We now have a dedicated in-house servicing team who manage annual servicing works, reactive maintenance and PPM’s for our clients. In addition we will continue to invest in renewable energy, ensuring our engineers are fully trained and accredited with installing air source heat pumps.

I worked in the consumer electronics sector for nearly 30 years. Specialising in brand communications. Joining GMS was a great opportunity to step into a different field and focus on building client relationships and helping the Company to further flourish.

Contracts & Health and Safety Manager
Previously to working at GMS I worked as operations manager in different sectors which gave me experience in the day to day managing of works and health and safety practises. I was able to utilise and develop my skills into further health and safety qualifications and improve my knowledge of the mechanical industry. Now, no day is ever the same with my role varying from managing our health and safety, ensuring we are compliant to renewing our health and safety accreditations that we are all very proud of. I also manage the training of all employees ensuring that all certifications held are up to date. From here I also work closely with our suppliers to improve our supply chain and pricing and developing close working relationships as well as providing high customer service to our clients. I work closely with our project managers from tender stage to handover of a project from creating quality submissions, producing Construction Phased Health and Safety Plans, operation and maintenance manuals and health and safety files. I am now also managing projects myself and constantly learning new skills.

I am an accomplished & professional mechanical project & design engineer who is a logical thinker and a team player, who regularly delivers complex projects within demanding time and cost constraints, achieving customer satisfaction excellence, mitigating risks and issues, whilst maintaining progress in line with project plans. Experienced in problem solving issues within existing buildings and taking projects from concept or detailed design & specification, through to completion including the management of all processes. Experienced in working in a team delivering medium to large sized projects and delivering results in line with client requirements. I am confident in liaising directly with clients to build trusting and long lasting professional partnerships.

I have now been a project manager for over 25 years and prior to joining GMS I worked for various national M&E companies delivering multi-disciplined projects across the country. These have included delivering projects for the aerospace, MOD, educational, pharmaceutical and medical sectors and this experience enables me to support clients going forward to ensure a successful outcome no matter what the projects are.

Administration and Service Advisor
I am the newest member of the team, joining in Spring 2022. My background is in the IT/software sector, supporting the Sales team. I enjoy working as part of a team and providing clients with excellent customer service. I am looking forward to developing our Planned Preventative Maintenance programme and expanding our Servicing capabilities.

Customer Relations
I’m Teddy and play a vital part in the running of GMS. I ensure the teams morale is kept high and greet all visitors with warm friendly licks and hugs. I prove a real asset when it comes to customers and ensure we are unforgettable, many visitors now bring me treats for the first class service I provide. This is why I was quickly promoted to customer relations as well as post room manager. I expertly deliver the post to the guys in the office and ensure any junk is dealt with accordingly. I also provide security for the office ensuring there are no unwanted guests in the office!
